Our client is a large civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands, and they are looking for an Office Administrator to cover leave.

Temporary: 6 weeks commencing July 2018

The successful candidates main role is to present a professional ‘front of house’ service to clients, potential clients and members of the public. They must ensure the office is stocked, functional and presentable to visitors as well as provide secretarial duties as necessary for the business.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide a friendly, efficient and profession telephonist services.
  • Respectfully assist both internal and external personnel with queries to complete or deal with tasks.
  • Ensure all visitors are welcomed and looked after during their stay.
  • Help to ensure the day to day office function is stress free and provide administrative/secretarial services as necessary.
  • Archiving of company contract information in line with current legislation.


  • Maintain data to high levels to afford clarity and professionalism.
  • Assist in the accurate and timely enquiry response by ensuring all information is passed on to the relevant department/person.
  • Maintain the sub-contractor database to ensure the proper and correct checks are in place within the organisations supply chain and ensure this data is shared appropriately.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • 3 years experience of administration/assistant role in a busy office
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication & organisation skills


  • NVQ/BTEC/City & Guilds qualification in Business Administration
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering industry
  • Knowledge and experience of PA & secretarial duties
