We are looking for a Marine Engineer for a marine logistics company based in London.

Our client is a highly regarded marine civil engineering business established over 25 years. They cater for the domestic, leisure, construction, waste and commercial sectors.

The Marine Engineer will have overall responsibility for the maintenance of craft and all associated machinery and equipment, moorings and piers as directed. Main duties include: 

  • Assisting with all planned maintenance
  • Reporting any deficiencies in the appropriate manner and to the appropriate personnel
  • Ensuring any vessel on which you are working is properly victualled with appropriate fuel, oil and water
  • Assisting with all stock control procedures ensuring rope, tools, maintenance and cleaning equipment is stored correctly at all times; adhering to all legal requirements as minimum standard
  • Maintaining appropriate paperwork with respect to engineering and Heath and Safety issues
  • Complying with Company policies and procedures
  • Fulfilling Health and Safety responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Health and Safety Policy statement
  • Attending all training relevant to the role and operational requirements

Essential criteria

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent (including Maths & English)
  • MCA Approved Engine course
  • STCW Certificate in Personal Survival Techniques
  • At least 2 years' experience in marine engineering
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace

Desirable criteria

  • Qualification in Marine Engineering
  • Certificate in Fire Fighting & Fire Prevention
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of similar
  • Qualification in Health & Safety in the workplace

In return for this, the company offer a competitive salary of between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
